The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for investigating crimes that may require in-depth investigation.
Most crimes reported involve larceny and breaking and entering homes and businesses. Assignment of cases for investigation varies per case. Solvability factors such as witnesses, suspect identity, traceable property, evidence collected, fingerprints and similar crimes are considered in this process. CID works closely with the District Attorney's Office and routinely coordinates investigations with surrounding law enforcement agencies.
For reporting crime tips, please send them to Crime Stoppers.
